Motor Imitation

Motor Imitation is simply the skill of having the listener (responder) mimic the movements of the speaker (original performer). While this is typically tested and taught using a simple command (mand) such as “do this”, motor imitation does not (should not) require a vocal prompt.

Just like Echoic responding, Motor Imitation is a duplic, meaning that it requires a modeled behavior to occur prior to the response. This is one of the first ways we all learn.
