In regard to mental health and the general medical field, The Black Community has become stuck in a learned helplessness of both needing to have faith in those fields, while dealing with the mistrust and social stigma associated with utilizing those sciences.
To understand why the Black community has so many aversions to accepting mental/behavioral health services, you have to understand the origins/source of the fears and anxieties.
To understand the hesitance and aversions of the Black community to mental health, you must understand the history of experiences shared within the community.
